The company
This high profile government organisation is currently embarking on a three year digital transformation project. As part of this they are embarking on a multi-year project to replace almost all broadcast and AV systems as well as introduce new services to a range of internal and external stakeholders.

The role
Reporting into the Senior Project Manager - AV, this role will be fundamental in assessing the current and future needs of the AV/broadcasting capabilities.

This is a management role, although a background as an AV Technician will allow you to understand technical aspects when liaising with vendors and deciding upon which solution will best suit the organisation. This knowledge and expertise will be key to inform projects undertaken to upgrade systems and/or to introduce new services.

Specifically you will be required to:
  • Lead the discovery phase, assessing future needs of the organisation, assessing different AV solutions and presenting your findings on which new AV solution will best suit the organisation
  • Supervise the operations of the broadcasting and AV systems
  • Lead supervise and motivate support staff
  • Manage service level agreements with vendors
  • Supervise control room operations
  • Assist in troubleshooting and identifying issues in AV systems
  • Support the digital audio and recording systems used for transcription purposes
  • Provide expertise on the design, delivery and operation of AV systems
  • Actively participate in AV-related projects with a view to transition from the installation of new systems to BAU operations
Essential requirements
  • Significant experience in the broadcasting or AV industry, including live broadcast and control room operations, media asset management and technical proficiency
  • Demonstrated experience in administration and business planning, including producing operational guidelines and policies
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Experience in managing digital media services, teams and vendors
  • Experience in the development and implementation of audiovisual technology projects
