Our client is a highly regarded organisation that specialises in the design, marketing, distribution and administration of personal insurance products. They offer products in the term life, funeral, income protection and pet insurance markets.

About the role

Our client is actively seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead the end to end delivery of a new claims administration system for the business. This system is being developed via an offshore vendor, in conjunction with a team of resources that have been seconded from the business internally. This role will drive and manage the successful delivery of this multi-stream project.

Skills and experience required to perform in the role:
  • Extensive Project Management experience (Minimum of fifteen (15) years) managing multiple complex projects simultaneously, spanning multiple lines of business involving technical, operational and business teams
  • Domain knowledge of insurance claims systems highly preferred
  • Experience leading the delivery of new, complex core business applications with multiple integration points with other key business systems
  • Experience having led projects involving third party vendors and partners. Previous experience managing an offshore development vendor to deliver a solution and understanding where the potential risks are is mandatory. It will be critical for this role to understand the vendor structure, and ensure that they are meeting time-frames, and that they are adhering to agreed quality and documentation requirements
  • Demonstrable experience of applying project management methodologies (Waterfall and Agile) at each stage of the project. Understanding of SDLC, Service Delivery and Operations Management
  • Confident in using collaboration and project management tools (JIRA, Confluence, MS Project, Trello, and other Microsoft applications i.e. PowerPoint, Excel, Word and Visio)
  • Experience working within the insurance and / or the financial services industry preferred
  • Medium sized organisation in significant growth mode
  • Excellent opportunity for career progression
  • Start ASAP, but will wait 4 weeks for the right candidate
  • 9 month fixed term hire opportunity, paying a prorated base salary in the region of $150K base plus superannuation on top (commensurate with skills and experience). Upon successful completion of the project, there will be a $30K bonus paid. Strong possibility for an extension or permanent role as there is a great deal of transformation activity in the pipeline
  • Nor-west location - parking available on-site
