Job Description

My client is Australia's most recommended Bank. We are looking for a Senior Technical Business Analyst for an initial 4 month contract with extensions highly likely.

This role requires experience in operating in a complex environment and profound knowledge of business developments and IT and tooling solutions, within the Mortgages domain in particular. It combines a client (both internal and externally) focused attitude with analytical skills and result oriented strategic thinking.

The Technical Business Analyst will work within the Mortgage area and be responsible for ensuring business requirements are clearly interpreted into language that is easily understood by a technical audience. They will need to capture, document and develop them into technical artefacts.

This role will require close engagement with business SMEs and internal stakeholders. The Technical Business Analyst will be responsible for understanding business and developing functional requirements for data readiness, applications and interfaces from inception through to production.

To successfully achieve this, you:
  • Have worked in an Agile or hybrid (Agile / Waterfall) environment. Understanding and have participated in the creation of project artefacts and participated in all agile ceremonies.
  • Strong mortgage system and process knowledge.
  • Understand business objectives and processes and ensure these are reflected in system requirements.
  • Understand key mortgage processes, systems and tools and define system requirements that conform to defined principles and constraints.
  • Be able to define business processes that need to be developed or automated to allow the use of the new or updated systems to be used by the businesses.
  • Be able to create, modify (existing) or identify changes to process flows of the new or updated systems, together with feature engineers and leads.
  • Manage an up-to-date inventory of requirements collected for the project by other team members / SMEs.
  • Review proposed technical solutions and validate solution fit to business requirements.
  • Investigate solution impacts on other systems and ensure any required system changes are captured in delivery scope
  • Clearly communicate requirements to Customer Journey Experts and ensure common understanding across delivery teams.
  • Work with all stakeholders to prioritise the delivery of requirements to best achieve objectives.
  • Build excellent working relationships with Delivery Lead, architects, other analysts, Customer Journey Experts, project manager and development teams.
  • Have excellent problem-solving skills and be able to apply the level of analysis required to resolve issues or mitigate risks.
  • You ensure that the end-to-end user customer experience is optimal by supporting the CJE.
  • You need to have very clear verbal and written communication skills.
  • You need to be comfortable in raising, (and if required) escalating risks, issues through the lifecycle of the project.
  • Be able to work independently and within established teams.
