The Role

The position will be responsible for supporting various business units within the Conservation Programs Branch by providing specialist data analysis and business intelligence reporting support for a range of programs that deliver against branch objectives and outcomes.

This position will be responsible for understanding and documenting business reporting requirements and then implementing appropriate reporting solutions on the available enterprise platforms including Power BI and Salesforce.

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in Business Intelligence, data analytics and/or Information Technology (IT).
  • The ability to effectively communicate and engage with stakeholders at all levels of the organisation.
  • Ability to understand and document business reporting requirements at the functional level with experience in integrating a range of possibly disparate data sets.
  • Ability to work autonomously and within a team environment. Excellent facilitation and negotiation skills.
  • Extensive experience in the development of business reporting products to deliver business intelligence outcomes using a range of different data sources, data types, data analytics, data integration and writing SQL queries.
  • Extensive experience developing effective reporting and dashboard products that support business program functions and outcomes, particularly using Power BI Desktop and Power BI online services.
  • Knowledge of a range of data source types, structures and formats, including SaaS data sources (e.g. Salesforce), SQL databases and XML and spatial data.
  • Understanding of Agile methodologies, especially prioritisation and management of flexible scope.
  • Ability to prioritize and work across multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Sound understanding of, and experience within, the public sector would be highly regarded.

  • 3 Month Contract - potential for an extension
  • Pay rate negotiable depending on experience
